Hi everyone,
We had a fun morning walking through the park with some new friends who live here in Kunming. Then we went to lunch and had noodles. We were prepared to leave at 220 pm to meet the guide in the lobby to go to the Civil Affairs office to meet Duncan. Right as we were walking out the door, the guide called and said that they were now coming to our hotel and to be ready at 3 pm. They showed up at about 345pm. The two people from the orphanage handed me a paper with his schedule on it (it really was a form and was for a baby) and they left. Our guide stayed for a few more minutes to get me to sign some paperwork. Poor kid. He has been crying ever since they left. Thankfully Devereaux has been a huge, huge help in comforting his brother. The two boys are now sitting on the bed watching tv. Every few minutes Duncan starts crying again and we assume Devereaux is saying, Don't cry in Chinese and pats his leg.
Duncan is beyond tiny. I would say he is the size of an eighteen month old. Our new friends speak Chinese and have graciously offered to come over tonight. They are going to help us get dinner and will be able to explain some things to Duncan. We are so very grateful to have met them.
We covet your prayers as Duncan mourns and then makes the transition to our family.
Blessings,
Angela
